Israel Given Recommendation To Reconsider Russia As Export Destination Featured

28 January 2016
As a result of research conducted by Professor Amir Khaiman of Eurasian University along with specialists of the Export Institute and officials of Israel's Ministry of Agriculture, Israel's farmers were advised to re-examine their export options as the Russian market poses as many risks as it does opportunity.
Experts said that Israel's exporters are exposed to large risks and competition when shipping fruit and vegetable products to Russia at the average price segment. Russia's market has a lot of potential, but it is also characterized by financial instability. Exporters need to revise the assortment of exports to the market, only offering expensive and exclusive products.  Israeli exporters were also encouraged to look to East Asia with potential shipments to Singapore, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
