During the first six months of 2015, the Russian market purchased Guatemalan produce, including fresh fruits
and nuts, at a sum of US $252 thousand, which was an increase of 79 percent on the year for the same period.
These imports from Guatemala accounted for 4.91 percent of all exports from the South American entering the Russian market.
During the first six months of 2015, Guatemala increased vegetable
exports to Russia
by 11 percent on the year for this period to US $146 thousand dollars – more than US $132 thousand difference between these two years. The proceeds gained from vegetable
sales to Russia
provided about 2.85 percent of the total.
Over 83 percent of Russian exports to Guatemala were fertilizers, the exports of which totaled US $20.315 million. Exported fertilizers during this period were 41 percent higher (a US 14, 456 million difference) than the total for January-June of 2014.
Guatemalan exporters are currently supplying the Russian market with vegetables
and several types of edible roots and tubers.
