According to the research “Market Analysis Of Frozen Vegetable
”, which was created by a team of specialists of the company BusinesStat using data of Russia's Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) and the Federal Customs Service, between the period of 2010 and 2014 the volume of sales for frozen vegetable
products on the market increased from 269.3 thousand tonnes to 307.9 thousand tonnes – a 14.4 percent increase.
The analysis also indicates the popularity of frozen vegetables
and mushrooms, the share of which the average total amount of sales during this period amounted to 49.1 percent. The share of potatoes
was an average increase of 28.5 percent, fruits
and berries – 22.4 percent. The highest product turnover during the these five years was in retail trade. The average was 60.1 percent. Industrial processing had 14.4 percent and the rest accounted for 25.5 percent in the HoReCa sector.
The analysts at BusinesStat predict that sales will grow in the future by about 1.3 – 3.2 percent annually. This demand will shift toward cheaper frozen food products and away from more expensive options.
